18 Kilogram Tumour was Removed from the body of an 85-year-old Woman in Plovdiv, Bulgaria

An 85-year-old woman from Plovdiv, Bulgaria had an 18 kilogram tumour removed from her ovaries in a hospital in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Three months ago, an 85-year-old woman from Plovdiv, Bulgaria noticed that her belly had started rapidly growing. In the next few weeks, she started feeling heavy, felt pain in her abdomen and would often feel tired. After she went to the hospital, it was discovered that she had a tumorous formation in her abdominal cavity. Not long after, a surgery was scheduled at the Medline-Central Hospital in Plovdiv.

The operation was performed by the gynaecologists, Dr. Anton Mihnev and Dr. Valentina Vangelova. During the 1 hour operation, the doctors removed two tumours from the old woman’s ovaries. One of the tumours was with the size of a small orange, while the other was a gargantuan 18 kilogram formation. After the operation, the old woman is feeling well and moves almost without any problems. The doctors shared that the tumours were encapsulated and there metastasis in other organs, which is promising for the woman’s recovery.
