Twenty illegal houses torn down in Burgas

New information from the press centre of the Burgas municipality states that 20 illegal houses were torn down on the streets "Vladislav", "Indje Voyvoda", "Tamara"  and "Krayna" in the neighbourhood known as "Pobeda". Police officers, gendarmerie and employees of the municipality took part in the action. Some of the buildings have been taken down by their owners, while others were torn down with heavy equipment. Fortunately,  the situation didn't result in a conflict.

The houses were built in the middle of existing streets, registered in the cadastre, which made the movement of vehicles almost impossible. The director of the regional department of national construction control - Magdalena Manolova claims that the department is constantly looking for illegal buildings and construction sites. Last month 10 houses were torn down in Burgas.

Part of the inhabitants in the area aren't even from Burgas. Many of the houses were rented by a number of Roma.

Companies, whose production is in the neighbourhood, loaned their equipment to the authorities to help with the removal of the houses.
