Pensioners in Slivnitza, Bulgaria Receive Vouchers for free shoes

The pensioners in Slivnitza, Bulgaria whose income is less than 300 BGN (€150) a month have received vouchers for a free pair of shoes.

One of the most financially vulnerable groups in Bulgaria has received a warm gift for the winter. All pensioners in Slivnitza, who receive less than 300 BGN (€150) monthly income have received vouchers for a free pair of shoes. Catherine, one of the pensioners, is quite happy with the surprise and she says she’s glad she will have comfortable and warm shoes during the winter.

The mayor of Slivnitza, Vasko Stoilov says that donations have become much more widely spread in his municipality. The people have started turning more attention to one-another and are trying to help with whatever they can. According to Stoilov, the fact that people are turning their attention to the less fortunate is a good sign about the direction in which the country is going and its future.
